Shipping & Delivery

At Mōku, most pieces are crafted to order.

Rather than producing large quantities of furniture that sit in warehouses, we work closely with our artisan partners in Indonesia to create pieces as they are needed. This approach allows us to focus on craftsmanship, material quality, and responsible production.

Every piece is made with intention, crafted specifically for its future home.

Lead Times

Most Mōku furniture, lighting, and home décor is made to order.

Production typically takes approximately 8 weeks, depending on the product, materials selected, and current production schedules.

Once production is complete, your order will be carefully prepared for international shipment.

Estimated shipping times:

  • Europe: 6–10 weeks.

  • United Kingdom: 6–10 weeks.

  • United States: 6–12 weeks.

  • Other international destinations: available upon request.

These transit times are estimates and may vary depending on destination, customs clearance, shipping schedules, weather conditions, and local delivery arrangements.

Should any significant delays occur, we will keep you informed throughout the process.

Estimated Total Lead Time

As most Mōku pieces are made to order, the total lead time from order placement to delivery is typically:

  • Europe: approximately 14–18 weeks.

  • United Kingdom: approximately 14–18 weeks.

  • United States: approximately 14–20 weeks.

Orders containing multiple products may ship together once all items have completed production.

If your project has a specific deadline, we recommend contacting us prior to ordering so we can advise on the most suitable timeline.

Availability

While the majority of our collection is produced to order, a limited selection of products may occasionally be available from stock through our manufacturing partners.

Where stock is available, delivery times may be significantly reduced.

Product-specific lead times will always be confirmed after your order is placed.

Our Made-to-Order Approach

We believe furniture should be made to last, not made to sit in storage.

By producing most items only when they are ordered, we are able to:

  • Reduce unnecessary overproduction.

  • Minimize excess inventory and material waste.

  • Support traditional craftsmanship.

  • Maintain greater attention to detail.

  • Offer flexibility in material selections and customization.

While this approach requires a little more patience, it allows us to create products with a more considered environmental footprint and a higher level of craftsmanship.

Shipping Process

Once your order has been completed:

  1. Every piece undergoes a final quality inspection.

  2. Products are carefully wrapped and protected for international transport.

  3. Larger furniture pieces are secured in export-grade wooden crates when required.

  4. Your shipment is handed over to our logistics partners.

  5. Shipping updates and tracking information are provided when available.

For larger furniture deliveries, local delivery partners may contact you directly to arrange a suitable delivery date.

Delivery Information

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all delivery information is accurate and that adequate access is available for delivery.

Before placing your order, we recommend checking:

  • Doorway dimensions.

  • Hallways and staircases.

  • Elevator dimensions where applicable.

  • Access routes to the intended room.

Mōku cannot be held responsible for delivery complications caused by restricted access, inaccurate delivery information, or circumstances outside our control.

Any additional charges resulting from failed deliveries, storage fees, redelivery attempts, or special access requirements remain the responsibility of the customer.

Customs, Duties & Taxes

International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, VAT, tariffs, or other local government charges depending on the destination country.

Unless otherwise stated at checkout, these charges are the responsibility of the customer.

We recommend reviewing your country's import regulations before placing an order.

Damaged During Transit

Every Mōku piece is thoroughly inspected before leaving the workshop.

In the unlikely event that your order arrives damaged during transport, please notify us within 48 hours of delivery.

To assist us in resolving the matter as quickly as possible, please provide:

  • Your order number

  • Photographs of the outer packaging

  • Photographs of the damaged area

  • A brief description of the issue

We will review the claim and work together with our shipping partners to determine the most appropriate solution, which may include repair, replacement, or compensation where applicable.

Our Commitment

From sourcing materials to hand-finishing each detail, every Mōku piece passes through many skilled hands before arriving at its destination.

We choose to work this way because we believe thoughtful design, honest materials, and enduring craftsmanship are worth investing in.
